Shocked by a surprise pregnancy, the former Catholic turned atheist Agnes (Genevieve Adams), agrees to convert to Judaism to be accepted by her boyfriend’s more conservative Jewish family. But learning to join the tribe proves no easy task for someone who has spent her whole life questioning and breaking the rules. As Agnes begins her study with a progressive Rabbi (Hari Nef), she discovers all is not what it appears to be. Family secrets come to light, and the couple are forced to grapple with questions about orthodoxy and hypocrisy, antisemitism, and modern love.
